ALC

Professional Interests:

Austin is passionate about integrating the best of clinical psychotherapy with a biblical worldview. Austin seeks to help individuals, couples, and families grow into the healthiest versions of themselves so that they can experience the fullness of what God created them to be. He wants to create a safe and supportive environment that facilitates openness and growth. Austin enjoys helping people through anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, and interpersonal relationship patterns.

Experience and Education:

Austin has a unique blend of training and education, including a Masters of Divinity (MDiv) from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Masters of Mental Health, Marriage, and Family Counseling degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Austin currently serves as the Family Minister at Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Austin loves serving the church, helping others experience the truth of Scripture, and helping people heal from doubts and hurts in their faith. Austin is an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) under the supervision of Kelly S. Arant, LPC-S and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Austin loves how therapy can help people overcome mental, emotional, and behavioral obstacles that they face so that they better address their spiritual needs, find deeper purpose in their life, and grow in Christ.

Personal:

The greatest joys in Austin's life are being a husband to his wife Laura Kathryn and a father to his three sons. Laura Kathryn and Austin have been married for over a decade and love serving children, teens, and families. Austin loves helping his sons grow into who God has made them to be and coaching them in sports. Austin got into counseling after experiencing his own mental health crisis from which therapy helped him heal and grow. He wants to help others experience the growth and support that counseling can provide when they are in a challenging season of life or when they are trying to reach their full potential.
